starting to help others...

I woke up this morning to find an interesting request in my inbox.

I will leave my updates around the eye for another post; I feel that Elena's message gets the priority. This is the name of the girl/ woman who wrote to me and begging for information that can be of any help to her friend in Romania who was diagnosed with a BIG acoustic neuroma. She got my email from my profile in ANA forum and the recommendations she received from a bunch of people on the forum. I have not been in the group for a while because of my LOTS of eye problems, so she emailed straight.

As Romania is a neighboring country, Elena asked me for information concerning my Europe - Germany's trip. It is much easier to get to Europe than to travel the whole world to go to LA, except everything else.
I wrote immediately back to her a longish email concerning facts I had gathered from my correspondence with House Ear Clinic and International Neuroscience Institute in Hannover Germany. I tried to summarize all I know and wrote only the succinct facts not to scare Elena. I am completely aware of how overwhelming such a narration can be and did my best to be concise. I suggested her the ways she and her friend should explore the money factor, because for me, this was the hardest obstacle!

But the most important is that Elena, HER FRIEND, has taken up with searching information as much as she can. It is just amazing of her! I was alone through this process and I know how precious Elena's help is. I mean, I had my family and friends by my side, but no one helped me in the actual process. Maybe they knew I am strong enough to do it by myself!! ;-) I feel that Elena is a real precious stone-friend to her Romanian - great support even from far away. (Elena lives on another continent.)

I am glad that this journey is in the past for me and now I would like to be of any help to others who are on the road after me and to make their AN adventure easier!
