i got mugged on the street....

What a nightmare happened to me this evening! I was walking home after the lectures at 9:30 pm when a man did a mug attack on me! Srly! I am sooo scared! :S

I was wearing the really precious jewelery Andrew brought me from Switzerland last summer - the beautiful silver multi-faceted SWAROVSKI earrings and necklace. Since it was really warm my jacket was open so they were available and apparently had attracted my non-goodwiller's eye!

I noticed there was a person walking after me at some point and stopped to take a deliberate look at a shop window for a while to notice that he took a break too at the bus stop nearby. Since it was lit around and there were many people he did not dare and waited for me to go on. I passed by a fast food shop that was just closing and was coming nearer to my place when I felt a hand curling up around my neck! At first, I thought that it was a friend but the moment later I realized how hard he pulled my ear - I really thought he tore it! Actually he just managed to tear apart the earring from its back part and it fell apart - I still have the precious stone part but the back part is gone forever. He tried to steal my necklace and purse but he could not so he ran away with nothing. The boys nearby ran after him and caught him up - they started to kick him until all his face and hands were in blood. He was crying and apologizing but that was just nothing in comparison to me yelling at him and trying to get the rear part back. I could not! He ran away! I was scared enough to get home alone so I called my apartment mate and she immediately came together with her boyfriend to pick me up.

Now I am drinking tea and after an hour-long talk on the phone with my sweetie I am going to bed! He was so worried as well but since he has been out of the town for the whole week, we cannot do anything more, though he was ready immediately to drive 2 hours road through the mountains back to Sofia. I just figured out that it would be a lot more scary thinking of him crossing the mountain pass by car at night so I asked him not to come!

I will be very worried about ever coming back home after lectures late in the evening but I have to overcome it somehow. That is life!

Oh My Goodness! I am way behind on my blog reading so I did not even know this happened to you - how HORRIBLE!! I am so glad that you weren't hurt - sounds like he got it good from the boys, though!
